About the brand:
The history of the Monet brand began in 1927. At that time, it was Michael and Joseph Chernow, Russian Jewish immigrants who founded their company in Providence (Rhode Island, USA). They named the company Monocraft Products Co. The Chernow brothers worked under the name for ten years, and they made their first jewelry in 1929.
It is impossible to say exactly what motivated the company founders to eventually name their jewelry Monet. Perhaps they liked the works of Impressionists Edouard Manet and Claude Monet. The Monet jewelry brand of the Chernov brothers debuted in 1937.
